Is it normal to feel a little embarrassed/nervous walking into the gym for the first time? I felt that when I tried it the last time - all those fit bodies made me feel very inferior if that is the right word.
Yes it is a common issue. However, be confident and proud and remember they don't know you so you can take on a more confident persona. Also, remember they all had to start somewhere.
There is no need to be embarrassed - 99.99% of those at the gym are doing their own stuff anyway so they will hardly notice you.
Very true, why do we all assume everyone is looking at us or interested in what we are doing. The majority of people are too busy concentrating on their own workouts.
The older we get the more difficult it is to lose weight and tone-up. I have read up on health issues in older life and they can be horrendous if we are not careful!
Healthy diet regular exercise and doing what you enjoy doing and not being concerned what others think of you is the way to go to for healthy life. Felling nervous going to the gym is a good thing. Lets think of it this way, if you are so passionate doing gym work that nervous feeling shows how much you care about it, use that feeling and feed off it. It shows you care and thats a winning feeling.
I can appreciate this, especially when starting "your journey" to better health and fitness. Are there classes for beginners?
