Wasn't chalking it up to your height, your feat was amazing. Grabbing the inside plate.... ya, you would rock 405.

      Yikes, that's impressive!

Looks like a good way to end up with a distal avulsion fracture (jersey finger) but maybe the force on the fingertips isn't as much as it seems from the video.

USAWA Rule for the Reeves Deadlift:
“The rules of the Deadlift apply with these exceptions. The lift starts by the lifter gripping one plate on each side of the bar. The flanges of the plates may be turned outwards to provide a better gripping surface. A regulation bar of legal length must be used. There are no width specifications of the flanges of the lifting plates. Weight is added to the bar with smaller diameter plates so the lifter always has just one plate per side to grip.”

Their record holder is 455 I believe, and 405 is Reeves record. Regulation is only one 45 plate per side, so that the grip width is uniform for every attempt. Try world record using one 45 pps.

Go tape 460 tomorrow and show us what a world record looks like!!!

Wasn't meant to be a shot at you.... why would I when I have an 80" wingspan myself?

I just meant that I wouldn't think that the Reeves lift was even POSSIBLE (grabbing the outside plate) unless your arms are fairly long to begin with.

I'd like to try it myself (probably not with 315 though lol).

      Plenty of truth there.

BTO, nice lift but am wondering if gripping the plates thru the holes is considered legal? I have no idea and the only grip surface mentioned is "flange".
