I am currently 17 years old and have been bodybuilding for just over a year now going 5 days a week, i've thought about taking creatine monohydrate many times and have'nt decided its the right thing to do as this one reason, if i take creatine monohydrate properly and continue my workout schedule and start playing football which comes up in 2 weeks will i lose the gains i gained? because creatine puts water in your muscles correct? im going to be practicing 4 days a week which will have a lot of running included, so im just wondering with all the running ill be doing will this cause some of the water muscle i gained to start going back down?

Take the creatine. It will help you in football. Stay hydrated.

the water weight u put on is minimal, maybe 1-2 lbs IF that. the purpose of creatine is ATP, not to add water weight

But seriously, snorkelman already answered your question. The reason you take creatine is to improve explosive short bursts of activity. You should already be drinking lots of water if you are involved in sports.

ull gain muscle mass from good diet and training; stop overthinking creatine, its a SUPPLEMENT, not a magic muscle-gainer

The mechanism of action of creatine has NOTHING to do with water retention.
