im 17. i turn 18 in a month. 5'8, 203 lbs. no my body isnt shaped like a pear. i have more of a muscular build but i do have some fat in my belly and some covering my muscle gains! so im currently cutting. here is my split.
i do 3-4 sets of each and 8-12 reps. i lift pretty heavy.

monday - chest/triceps- flat barbell bench press (max 225) i start with 135 and usually end with 135 or 185., inclined barbell bench press i only do 135., tricep pushdowns, chest flies (machine), dips.

tuesday-cardio (mostly basketball and jump rope)

wednesday- back/biceps- pull ups, lat pull downs, seated cable rows, preacher curls, free weight curls, rear delt flies (machine)

      thursday-cardio

friday- shoulders/legs - shoulder press, side dumbell lateral raises, barbell shrugs, leg press, quad extensions, standing calf raises (machine)
weekend off except sunday because i play football and that gets me tired.

is this good enough? if i should add anything, please let me know!

Ditch the machines. Do full body barbell only workouts three to five days per week.

Machines force a specific range of motion/direction, which is not always the same as human mechanics. They also work the targeted muscles more, not as much on the stabilizers. Someone who can squat 700 lb is going to look a lot different than someone who can leg press 700 lb.

      why cant you do squats?

Do an experiment. Completely eliminate barbells from your workout for 3 whole months and see where your strength & size level is...

Next phase. Do exclusively barbells and see what happens to your strength & size...

This is a way for you to get first hand knowledge of the power of a barbell...

The philosophy i'm encouraging is not so much "no machines" as it is "emphasis on adding weight to barbell movements"

Machines and dumbbells can be used as assistance exercises to target specific weaknesses.

      Here's your back workout:

wednesday- back/biceps- pull ups, lat pull downs, seated cable rows, preacher curls, free weight curls, rear delt flies (machine)

      Here's what i suggest:

deadlift, 45 degree bent row, under hand pull up. and since you're doing so few exercises you'll have energy to really push yourself to the limit. just some insight into potential training methods

What is your reasoning for doing a split routine as opposed to a full body barbell routine?
