Even though the vast majority of bodybuilders look to improve their muscle tone purely because they like it and the fitness improvements this brings with it, how do people react to your improved muscle tone? Is their reaction positive, negative or fairly benign?

Personally I am trying to improve my fitness and muscle tone for me, to make me feel better about myself, rather than for what others think.

Great answer - you should be proud of yourself for doing something about your fitness and you should never do it for anyone else.

I even don't care anymore what other people say and think. Always try to do what I think better.

I totally agree - if you workout to impress someone else, what happens if that person walks away, where is your motivation then?

As they say, you need to learn to love yourself first and foremost :)

Absolutely agree with the above, what others say is irrelevant. Though I do find it interesting how intimidated men can be, especially when I am coming in for a show and have muscle popping and splits appearing day on day. People can be quick to judge, until they get to know me :p

      Hi Alicia,

It would be great if you could start a new post explaining how you prepare for a show. I would find it fascinating.
