      This prevents them from power cleaning it properly? Why the hell would they use something that makes them do a grip change in the middle of a clean?? da fuq

      Its basically a program that focuses on improving everything regarding your physical fitness.

      So bodybuilders focus mainly on obtaining muscle mass. Powerlifters focus mainly on improving strength. Endurance athletes focus mainly on increasing their stamina.

      What crossfit does is try to improve on all of those equally, and not focus on one too much. So the goal is to get decent at everything, but not great at any one thing.

      So they will do some powerlifting, some bodybuilding, some endurance training, some olympic lifting, some gymnastics, some stretching, some cardio, etc. etc.

      The idea is that if you aren't going to be a professional bodybuilder or a professional powerlifter, and you are just an everyday average joe, then you should focus on improving all elements of physical fitness instead of focusing soley on one.

      I don't necessarily disagree with their principles. But some of the sh*t they do is stupid. Kipping pull ups especially. And I heard it costs a sh*tload of money to get membership to a crossfit gym and its basically like a cult.
