I'm really stressed out right now, this is my fourth day of fasting, I'll be going to the gym today but I'm just so insanely worried about losing my hard earned muscle because there is no way I can eat enough calories. Does anyone have a solution for this? People say there's a thing such as muscle memory, not sure if I should believe that. Anyways, I'll be doing this fast for 1 month for religious reasons, does anyone know a way I can maintain my muscle? You can tell me to just eat all my calories when I can eat at night, but there is no way I can take in 2500 calories of food in a few hours, so what can I do to at least maintain my muscle for the next month? Also, if I worked out but followed a half assed eating plan for the next month, will I maintain my muscle?

Then hit the macros regardless how many meals a day you eat
Hit your macros it may be hard to stuff in all the macros in one meal. But you fasted all day I don't see how it be that hard, saying that you can always drink the calories, or go for the calorie densed foods
just make sure hit those damn macros

If your fasting at least have a few protien shakes to preserve your muscle. Look up the term catibolic, that's what happends when you don't eat.

Well actually, it might be more simple than that. I have until 9:00PM - 4:30AM to eat my proteins, fats, and carbs but the problem is I don't know WHAT to eat to fill in that 2500 calorie gap.

Lol you don't get catabolism unless you fasted more than 24 hours or calorie deficit for days
Your muscles will use glycogen for energy
Glycogen is stored in the muscles and the liver. When you feel hungry or enter starvation, your body will first use Glycogen, fat then muscles. But muscles don't get used until you been fasted for more than 24 hours or days of calorie deficit.

There is such a thing is muscle memory. My brother-in-law is also fasting at the moment and every year he loses most of his gains. Thing is after the fast is over, he rapidly regains his muscle when eating enough and working out.

Only way of maintaining your muscles is by hitting your calorie needs..

So you are fasting for the sake of sympathy to the poor, to see how they feel, and you worry about something as superficial and meaningless as muscle mass... If you are so worried about losing muscle, then why fasting?

Maybe he lost those gains cause he didn't hit those macros and calorie needs? ? ?
But yeah there is muscle memory and it's easily to gain back if you did lose muscles
