Well first off I think anecdotes about the "creatine bloat" are merely placebo.

As for the rest I wish I could comment but I can't lol. Can creatine be taken up into fat?

i dont believe it can be taken up into fat, but from what i've researched it seems that if a creatine based product is unstable then the parts that aren't absorbed are stored in between cells rather than in them which in turn should end up making everything around the muscle seem bigger and larger.

Yeah the bicep vain is the most satisfying vein for me. Whenever its popping out i'm so happy haha.
I guess genetics play somewhat of a role. I have a few friends that are at a higher bodyfat percentage than me, but their bicep veins are always popping

Don't even bother with kre-alkalyn or any other expensive creatine. Their claims are 99% bs marketing tactics. I tried it and it was less effective than mono if anything for strength gains, hardly any difference in bloating.

I haven't taken creatine in over 10 years, but when i used to i had very little bloating and only slight water retention that caused my muscular definition to be any worse. I just started taking optimum nutrition's creatine monohydrate 2 days ago. Hopefully i wont have much retention, but if i do, its no big deal. It will go away when i stop taking it, hopefully leaving slightly more muscle underneath .... which is the reason I'm taking it.

Yes srs. I stopped taking mono and went straight to kre-alkalyn. Took 4 caps every day which is supposed to be the "max". I feel like it made a tiny difference on bloating because I lost 1 or 2 lbs with a steady diet but I also had a small decrease in strength. I'm starting to think the bloating is just a side effect of the creatine actually working.

maybe we just react differently to it? but if when you were younger you didnt bloat so much on creatine, i'm guessing it wont be so bad now lol.

well tons of people claim that it worked really well without any bloating at all. i think it's kind of the opposite of an indication that it's working. if the creatine is stored within muscle like it's supposed to be then the only thing similiar to bloating that would occur should be within the muscles. but 4 pills a day? that probably caused it. i'm assuming a pill is 5 grams so that would be 20 a day, which is alot more than a typical person taking creatine and is reminiscent of the amount taken back when people used to load it

Well.. supplements have come a long way since then and hopefully in the way of improvements. Extracellular water retention is just a temporary thing while you're taking the creatine. Just think about the glorious growth that should be taking place under it to be uncovered when/if you decide to stop taking it foe a while. I look at it as i do bulking. You bulk to build muscle and possibly put a layer of fat over it and when you cut that layer of fat back off, it'll be an even better and improved version of what you had seen before.
