roughly 1-.1.5 grams of protien per lb of bodyweight

0.5 grams of at per lb of bodyweight

      and the rest carbs
      to make up 3.8k cals
was following this routine for ages was making gains but everyone on here worships 2x a week and lifting 6x a week is a drag

Nothing wrong. Just rmb if you're gonna do 1x a week then you better do high enough volume so that your muscles need a 4-6 days to recover. Personally I do big bodyparts like legs and back once a week (hypertrophy) but I'm currently doing arms 2x a week bcos I'm trying to bring them up.

Used to lift x2 a week (for about 2 years).

I find x1 much more beneficial, 4 day split with 3 rest days. Muscle builds during rest not while at the gym, you're just breaking it down there.

my volume is roughly 12-16 sets per bodypart, it isnt ragingly high.
Im doing 2x a week now but honestly think heavy squats more than once a week is too ****ing much.
      thanks

Yep I love having 3 days of rest, this 2x a week seems like everything is being rushed.
I think there are a few shepherds on this forum who speak about 2x a week training and the rest of the forum are sheep and and mimic what they say.
      thanks

12-16 sounds good. I usually do 12-16 or slightly higher too. And yea, honestly after leg day I won't even be able to squat down normally without soreness for a good 4-6 days. So I cant fathom doing legs 2-3x a week in the hypertrophy set/rep range unless your doing low volume every workout.

I work out two times a week and high volume. its about what works for you. Nothing wrong with a 4 day split, alot of people do it and alot of people get great results! but dont go as far as you say 2X a week is bad. and yes keep it high volume

No problem. The 2 days rest at the weekend really aid my recovery, I'm absolutely shot after a hard 4 days of training.
