      He's turning 46 next month and I have no clue what to get him. Would you guys be able to give me some advice on what to buy him?

      I'm not a gentleman, but I'll chip in. Does he like golf? Does he like music? Does he read and what does he like to read? Does he like a fine wine? Give us more info. Believe it or not, not all 40-something men are alike.

      Does he like sports or the theatre? Maybe you could buy tickets and take him to a game or a show.

      Gentlemen, please help me buy a gift for my dads birthday.

      He used to play golf but not anymore. He's not much of a reader or a wine drinker. He's into technology big time. But I'm not sure what to get him there, he already has the iPhone and iPad. I got him one of those Bluetooth headphones for christmas, he seemed to like that. And thank you for giving me a serious answer.

      Fast moving? Goodness, we're the Senior Citizens of the forum - and not all of us have walkers on wheels!

      Good idea. Not every gift has to be a surprise. You could say, "Hey Dad, I want to do something nice for you for your birthday. What would you likde to do?" I bet his heart would melt.

      I wish I could help out with the technology thing, but I am, sadly, a techno-peasant.

      Get something that could help with his hobbies. You say he has an iPhone/iPad? Get accessories for it, like covers or something.

      This is a lot harder than I expected.
