      Walk outside and look up to see which room was lit up with each switch.

      It was driving me crazy I just had to look up the answer. Seems so easy in hindsight but I'll admit I would have NEVER gotten it on my own

      Thats it, not in the manner but it will still work.

      Here is the answer, you turn on the first switch wait a minute or 2.
      Shut the switch off
      Turn on the second witch
      Leave the 3rd one off

      Then go upstairs

      The light that is off, yet hot, is switch 1
      The light that is on, is switch 2
      The light that is off and still cold is switch 3
