Are you or do you know of any one who is a skip rat, you now someone who roots thro dkips for stuff.

The reason l ask this is because l think for the last 25 yrs l have missed out on a few tricks here.

In my job l have spent yrs just dismiised the scrap etc coz l xouldnt be ar*ed but the father in law has been rooting thro the skips where he works as there are restoration works going on and he's bagged himself £485 in 3 weeks from the scrap in them !!

I am having a total re think here TBH.

My brother works as a plumber and salvages everything he can. From cooper wire and cap ends to vanity units and rads. He says he prob makes/saves 6-7k a year.

From job to job by keeping hold of 'waste' he can use it on the next job or sell it on

Im 19 going on 60. I'm always pulling stuff out and going to the scrap man ahaha

edit: are we talking just rubbish skips thats going to waste, or actual scrap metal skips that people will be filling up to sell to scrapman themselves?
