I use a Compaq Presario.I had a new hard drive installed 18 mths ago.Since I updated my Kaspersky antivirus,it takes over 5 minutes to startup, and is extremely slow to do anything. My ALPS driver keeps crashing, every day,and any "thread" with multiple pics or vids/gifs/memes takes a long time to load. "Dat Ass" thread usually has me waiting for about 8 minutes plus to get all the pics.

This is really driving me bats#it!! Any advice on what I can do to speed things up,cheap? Like for nothing!

Please note that anything to do with computers, well,I am a Troglodyte!

You might need to add more RAM. You can also go to:
Start/search/msconfig and disable all the stuff that is booting up from startup

Sorry dude,I literally have no idea what that means.

If it helps,my new hard drive is double the old one.

You really don't need to do a full scan on start up. If you can disable it, scans should run at random times and in the background not disrupting anything you are doing on you pc. I will do some research on Kaspersky and get back to you with options.

Also, are you turning your computer off when you're done with your work??

^^Thanks.Yes I am shutting down.My Kaspersky runs itself, but I am pretty ignorant/computer illiterate so I don't understand much about them.It is getting late here so if I don't get back in the next 12 hours or so then please forgive me.
