      She is assuming he is using the speedo to gauge his speed, which might be slightly "off" true speed. Also, she probably overthinks and complicates everything in life.

      btw: the guy is non too practical for thinking there is anywhere in the world where one can safely and legally drive at a consistent 80mph for a solid hour never slowing down for traffic, road hazard, road construction, speed trap, fuel stop or weather.
