Rest days are part of training, but an unplanned week away from the gym can feel very different.

Illness, work, family commitments or a holiday can interrupt even a well-established routine. Logically, a few missed sessions are unlikely to undo months of progress, but it can still feel as though you are losing momentum.

Do you ever feel guilty when you take time off training?

Can you accept the break and return when you are ready, or do you worry that missing several workouts could turn into several weeks?

When you return, do you go straight back to your normal weights and routine, or do you start the first few sessions a bit easier? It would also be interesting to hear whether an occasional break has ever left you feeling stronger and more motivated.
