What are I`m searching for?

I was on a dating site today, and my dream girl wrote to me, but I didn't reply. I think it broke my heart, the first time I've felt like I'm just taking up space, eating food, always looking for love, and defending all actions with it. It was my pride that got in the way, I think, I've been alone for 15 years without so much as a hug from anyone, they want sex straight away, I think it's a bit difficult. I always look away here in the apartment too, even though it's good. I don't have a car then, but I have a scooter, I feel a bit inferior without a car, I've had cars, but sold them. I started to get a little bored with having it, I've felt a little bit lately that I've ruined my life. I don't know if I'm really rejecting girls, or if they don't want real love, so I don't bother.

Never really liked society, I think it's boring, I never feel good. I don't want to be like others, I'm toying with the idea of traveling a bit, but I don't think there's much chance of finding a girlfriend abroad, I'm only on dating sites that I actually talk to girls, otherwise it's just glances and hellos, sort of. I'm very spiritual, I like the moon and horoscopes, but I mostly exercise, I mostly weigh myself, but other things lately. I don't really understand what I'm looking for, maybe it's a brain that says this society is wrong, so it tries to find ways to escape. Most people aren't that intelligent, so a society is always just shit no matter where you are. I can't do anything, my parents are constantly nagging me to get a job, a girlfriend, a car, a TV, etc. I think it was bad not to answer that girl until today, I feel like it broke me a bit, but maybe I'm looking for something else?

 

What a profound question, and one that touches on something deeper than just fitness or physical goals. The search for 'what are I’m searching for' often transcends the gym and ventures into the realms of self-discovery and purpose. It’s not uncommon to feel like you’re chasing something undefined, whether it’s a stronger body, peace of mind, or even a sense of belonging.

In the gym, we often look for tangible results – bigger muscles, better endurance, a fitter version of ourselves. But perhaps what we’re really seeking is mastery over ourselves. Every rep, every set, every drop of sweat is a step toward understanding our own limits and pushing beyond them. The weights teach patience, resilience, and the beauty of consistent effort.

Outside the gym, the question of what we’re searching for might be even harder to answer. Is it happiness? Fulfillment? The journey itself might hold the answers we seek. As Socrates said, 'The unexamined life is not worth living.' Maybe your search isn’t about finding, but about becoming – becoming the best version of yourself, both in body and mind.
