      VW Golf, Audi A3, Audi A3 Sportback, Renault Megane.

      All do decent diesel engines with good fuel economy.

      Would love the leon but looking a bit too much too insure atm.

      Civic looks nice, will have a think.

      Would a astra van be more to insure than a car as i like them and i do odd bit of private work so would be handy and with only 2 seats i wont get hassled to run people around haha

      Before getting the Civic I nearly got a 2.0 TDI A3 Sportback...but when I was told a CD player and electric windows were optional extras told them to do one!

      Any VAG car with the PD130 engine will fulfill your criteria so as has been said leon fr, fabia vrs, golf gt tdi, audi a3 tdi etc

      This Leon (Refrence Sport) is only group 9 insurance. I pay £350 per year fully comp.

      Doubt there would be much difference insurance wise, as long as you're not using it as a business vehicle.

      A lot of astra vans have a crew bench in the back so it's effectively a 4 seater. These fold into the floor to leave a full van back. I know some insurers charge more as they assume it'll be business use as not many people drive a van for purely social and domestic use
