I would be expecting them to pay out, but after some extended form filling with it not being at home, I'd say it's worth changing your statement to say the disc lock was on tho just to be safe.

That's where it's stored overnight majority of the time, they can't expect you not leave it somewhere else for one night... A lot of the time they have little correspondence with police anyway, doubt they'll even request the report unless it turns up as it cost them money and will contain little to no useful information if its his just his statement.. I work in insurance btw.
