Vegetarian diets ranked as fourth most effective diet for weight loss (full list)

I have been seeing a lot of debates lately in various sub-forums as well as other forums about whether dropping meat makes cutting weight easier or harder, so I wanted to open up a discussion here to get everyone’s real-world take.
At the end of the day, we all know calories in vs. calories out is the core driver of fat loss. But how you hit that deficit feels completely different depending on your dietary approach.

So for those who have tried both vegetarian and meat based diets for weight loss, what are the pros and cons for each?

Vegetarian diets are naturally higher in fiber which is a good thing because you can consume a larger portion and feel fuller while consuming less calories. The main downside that it is relatively low in protein but meat alternatives can fix that easily.

With meat diets, the protein content is higher, the taste is better (subjective), but it is very easy to overconsume and gain fat.
