However, where those calories come from make a difference. 1g carb(4 cals) =/= 1g protein(4 cals) 1g protein =/= 1g fat(9 cals) 1g fat =/= 1g carb Typically, however, the 'healthy foods' satisfy your hunger using less calories than the 'junk food'. They also contain more micronutrients and such, but that is more complicated.
