Is the water only a factor just because of how it inflates the rice and makes it weigh more?

Basically, I just want to know when MYpal app says, 3/4 cup cooked, how can i convert that into g? I have a kitchen scale so I can measure the g accuratly, i just need to know the conversion.

When I've been measuring out 6 oz of basmati rice on my scale, have I been eating more than 3/4 cup serving or less?

So if I'm correct, what you're saying is measuring anything other than liquid in cups or oz is pointless. Everything but liquid should be measured in g?
