      Evening all,

Been lurking for a week or so but thought I should introduce myself and get some personal advice etc.

I'm a 25 year old male, around 5' 10" tall and weigh about 11.5st. I have been looking into joining a local gym to get a toned up and improve my strength.

I feel underweight and believe bulking up would help, my upper body especially is what I'm hoping to concentrate on most as my arms and shoulders are very small.

Well that's my small introduction done.

      Stephen.

      Thanks both.

Those 3 tips sound good, are protein shakes worth the expense?

protein shakes are exactly what they are mate, a great way of increasing protein intake.
but dont fall for the common mistake of buying gucci protein, i'm talking about the heavily marketed stuff that is ridiculously priced.
you're better off buying whey protein in bulk from the guys on here e.g. pro-10 as it tastes better and more for your money.

So worthwhile trying then you'd say? Was looking at the stuff in H&B earlier which seemed pretty decent value but wanted opinions first and then having chance to shop around.

its deffo worthwhile grabbing some whey protein.
90% of the members on here including me use it in order to increase our protein intake.
you can also get samples either for free from the reps or buy them for 99p to try before you buy in bulk.
