my back day consists of (in order from first to last): - 3 sets pullups - 4 sets BB rows - 5 sets deads *OR* - 4 sets BB rows - 5 sets deads - 3 sets one arm DB rows so my deads are either in the middle of my back workout or in the last (but i always do 5 sets of deads regardless). SO, is exercise/set order really important or is it just irrelevent to building muscle ?

Keeping the exercise last will subject it to the effects of fatigue; however, if doesn't matter if that's not a priority for you.

While if I do deads first, the rest of my back workout suffers terribly bad. Also, by the time I finish my deadlift portion of my workout, I'm not usually wanting to do anything else in the gym.

Is exercise order important ? it will still build muscle. the order is only important if you have a certain goal. my goal is a bigger deadlift so i put them first in my workout. if i was trying to get better at pullups i would put them first. the order of your exercises is fine
