what's the point of "fast-acting" whey protein, or "slow-digesting" casein? In terms of body composition, there is absolutely no difference, correct?

I've never taken casein protein before, but is it true that it will really help to keep you full for a longer period of time? Thinking about using it this up coming Ramadan.

usually contains more fat/carbs, hence more calories. so it will fill you up more. i would rather have an omelette though

Food will more than likely be more effective.

      It's not "irrelevant."

The word "irrelevant" is misunderstood and misused by parrots that don't understand the implication.

That being said: ignore "fast acting" on pretty much ANYTHING. Especially nutrients. Because yes, in terms of body comp, it doesn't matter.

Have you ever looked at the Nutrition Information on Casein Protein before???? If so, you apparently cannot read because Casein Proteins typically have the cleanest profile of protein powders.

Sure, you can find Whey Protein with a better profile than Casein, but i would say its a safe bet that Casein Powders have a lower fat/carb count than 85% of whey proteins out there.

Off the top of my head, dymatize casein has only 1 gram of fat and 5 carbs to 24 grams of protein. I think ON's is similar too.

In terms of body composition, which this thread is about, "irrelevant" is close enough to the more correct "largely irrelevant". It's also fairly safe to assume that unless otherwise stated, people asking about meal timing aren't trying to optimize an otherwise nearly perfect diet and training regimen. So I suppose I agree with the spirit of your statement, but I don't think it's meaningful to point it out since doing so doesn't significantly change the advice to be less concerned over meal timing.
