I worked out for seven years .. not trying to get big and not really trying to lose fat either, just to maintain .. during this time period I took in about 2550 calories a day and about 75 grams of protein (eating whatever I felt like).. Since December (138.5 lbs @ 12% bodyfat) I decided to bulk up (now I'm up to 148 lbs @ 13% bodyfat) .. I've increased my calorie intake to 3050 a day and because I'm taking in extra calories I'm also taking in about 15 more grams of protein a day and have been consistently gaining. Perhaps it's because of "noob gains" but the way I see it if I was able to get the muscle that I had originally at 75 grams of protein a day .. I'd OBVIOUSLY have to be able to gain SOMETHING with 15 EXTRA grams of protein a day. Maybe it's not the ideal amount but if I'm able to gain muscle at 90 grams a day, seems like 148 would be highly unnecessary. Thoughts?

And I don't think it's necessary to eat a fixed number of calories a day

workout for seven years, weighs a buck forty six.

you couldve made a lot better progress if you had 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight.
In 146g of protein is only 584 calories out of your 3050 bulking calories, its very easy to do.

I said I worked out for seven years keeping my diet the same the whole time .. of course I didn't gain weight, I wasn't trying to lol. But in the past three months I've gained 7 lbs of muscle (9.5 lbs total) by increasing protein by 15 grams
