      1) Eating 6 small meals a day is better for stoking the metabolism and better for building muscle
      2) you need to eat 'clean' food to avoid getting fat
      3) Breakfast is the most important meal of the day
      4) Eating carbs after 6pm will make you fat
      5) You need to avoid spiking insulin to stop making you fat
      6) You have an anabolic window the hour after you train
      7) Casein is the best protein to have late at night to keep building muscle through the night
      8) you need 2g of protein per lb BW to build muscle


      it seems so much bro-science and antiquated is propagated on this board, i was wondering how many of the above you still hang on to?

      How many people believe any of the following?

      1) Yes. Keeps you in an anabolic state and higher metabolic rate.
      2) Obviously.
      3) No. Every meal is important.
      4) Time of day does not dictate the storage of fat/carbs.
      5) The are good times and bad times for insulin spikes.
      6) This is true. Your body is depleted and looking to restore the ATP system and energy stores
      7) Any slow digesting protein (other than soy which raises estrogen) is good. Casein is just convenient.
      8) Depends on goals and if your natty or not..

      i agree with point 6, tho im not sure its possible to put a time limit on it but after training, my body is crying out to be fed.

      I had my most successful cut eating bacon and ice cream most days. I eat loads of veggies and good quality meat (not necessarily lean though) though along side this.

      Don't fret stepping away from typical bodybuilding foods so long as you are hitting calorie and macro goals (and have an overall balanced diet)

      How many people believe any of the following?

      While I think some of them may be based on truth, I don't think they will have a noticeable effect to the average trainer (not talking about competitive bb'er here) if they hit their daily calorie and protein target and use a bit of common sense.
