Hey guys, As the title says: How important are carbs? I have increased my carbs a lot and I only feel that it's a waste of time eating so much carbs if I only train 4 times a week. Carbs are just energy, right? The main goal is to build muscles. I weight 176 pounds and I eat roughly 250 grams of protein and 350 grams of carbs. But I feel so bloated, disgusted and full everytime I consume carbs. Won't that just make me fat? Or do I really need to consume that many carbs in order to grow? I just ate like 100 grams of oatmeal, an apple and a shaker with 30 grams of protein for example. Is that really wise to eat like that? I would appreciate any help. Thanks! ^^
How important are carbs? ^dont listen to mrRED here. your carb amount is just fine, and even the protein intake is fine. carbs wont make you fat. the lack of training intensity/massive calorie overload will though. carbs are your key to growth in the bulk/offseason. dont worry about feeling bloated, you will adjust to it.
How important are carbs? Carbs are non-essential, period. You need calories to grow, not specifically carbs. The advice above I can only assume is based on the fact that carbs are easy to get, cheap, and contain calories (hence the off-season part). They definitely help get calories in to bulk up if you struggle to get them from protein/fat sources.
How important are carbs? You think so? I barely drink any protein drinks and I still get those high rates. Haha!
How important are carbs? The thing is that I want to put on some mass. So my calorie intake should be around 500 plus, which makes it up to 3,500 calories. I won't make 3,500 calories if I don't add up carbs. Period. But I guess you are right. Oh, that's good. I hope it will adjust then ^^ Thank you!
How important are carbs? so, your saying all he needs is calories from just fat then to grow? pls LOL
How important are carbs? No, you got me on my ninja edit. They are non-essential to body function unlike protein or fat. They are important (not essential) if you're after calories to bulk, you and I agree on this part. We're talking about the same thing just arguing different points, essential vs important.
How important are carbs? just make sure your getting an good amount of fat in your diet aswell. all 3 main macronutrients are important (proteins/carbs/fats)
