First time bulking tips So like doing bench, squat, deads in the 3-5 area and the assistance type stuff in the 8-10 would be good? That's what I was thinking
First time bulking tips Sure, why not? However, I would recommend varying it some here and there. I don't think you should ONLY do squats in the 3-5 rep range ALL the time, maybe split it up with some workouts being 3-5 and others being 5-8, something like that. Then again there are many training programs that do focus in the lower ranges and are hugely beneficial. Hell, sometimes you would do well to go for a one rep max... just don't do it EVERY time.
First time bulking tips Yeah. Don't . That's unsafe for your body. Can stop you from growing and cause injury. Your lifting stats aren't that impressive either bro.
First time bulking tips You're 45. The other guy is 26. Give me your max on deads, squats, bench, curl, parallel bar dips, pullups (not chin ups) I'm 17. Training for a year and a half Dead: 280 (did it yesterday) Squat: 215 x5 Bench: 185 x8, 80 lb dumbbells x5 Curl: 100 Dips: 20 reps 4 sets 12 pullups
First time bulking tips Hey, no hate, but I'm your age and alot stronger than you, so I don't think stats are everything man.
First time bulking tips OP, you should look into Lyle McDonald's generic bulking program. Quite popular on here and a lot of people have used it with great success. There's also Westside for Skinny Bastards or something that is more lower rep focused like SS (or Madcows if you're too advanced for SS). In the end, overall goal should be to be stronger regardless of rep range. I've only been training a year and I have better overall numbers (minus the curl and bench) and I'm weaker than weak. I'm extremely weak.
