      Ending a mobile phone contract

      just fook them off i had a contact with 3 for mobile phone (18 month) the phone broke(6 months in) they wouldn't repair it or offer me a new one ...

      so told them to cancel contract ,they said no ..

      i told them i just wont pay the bill

      they said i will...

      i said ,ye not gettin a fookin penny off me ...

      the bills came rolling in every month for about 5 months .then stopped

      that was about a year ago . but since then i have got an internet dongle ,and a phone contract for me women off them .....

      I'm in sales and use Linkedin to get hold of contacts for companies i'm targeting, it's a fvcking goldmine.

      I had the same problem myself except I wasn't moving away I just simply couldn't afford it anymore. I had various conversations with people being very honest, which in truth, wasn't pleasant but I wanted some help.

      They did nothing, said you've signed a contract, be lucky...

      Although my experience was with Vodafone it's similar across the board. Mobile phone companies aren't making as much as they used to and the more people they have locked into contracts the better.

      My advice would be to either

      1) ask for a telephone allowance to added with your employment and use a cheaper phone once posted and pay the other off
      2) really beg them to drop your current price plan onto their basic one.

      I believe you are entitled to drop to any plan you want after 6 months?

      only other thing to do is pay your contract up.
