  • Down to 10% BF, safe to do small ab work everyday?

      Hey,

      I am down to 10% BF and the top two sections of abs are coming through, although I have to flex them a little to properly bring them out. I think the muscles should be a bit more defined by now....been working hard on diet and training for the past 4 months on them, went from 16/17% body fat downwards.


      I read a few articles that said when you get down to around 10% body fat you can do a little light ab session everyday on the short term to bring them out a bit more.

      Thoughts? Over training is the first thing I thought but wanted to see if anyone does this.

      I know Gregg Plitt does some everyday and he is in ridiculous shape.

      Currently I work them Monday Wednesday and Friday already, do you reckon it would be silly to do a 1/4 session in between days?

      if you can only see the top two when flexed you aren't 10%

      I can see the whole outline and all really, it's just the bottom two are slightly behind.

      Was measured at a gym a few days ago and got full body diagnostics.

      Just chuck in the ab work and see what happens, I wouldn't train them everyday as they will need as much time as any other muscle to recover.

      Do a mix of ab excercise twice a week with a good day or two in between.

      lol measured how? and by whom? if calipers where did they learn to do it?

      most people VASTLY underestimate their bodyfat levels,

      and if you had it done via electro impedance they are b.s, and unless someone really knows what they're doing with calipers they're easy to screw up too

      Seeing a hazy ab, in perfect downlightin, when flexed does not = 10%

      but to answer your question, i got decent abs and I never do abs, ever.

      don't see the need, they get hammered from pull ups and deads and everything else, i used to do a lot of crunchesf or mma but never looked any better than they do now

      Didn't know those machines could be inaccurate, had readings for each limb etc lol. So much data was grabbed all seemed reliable.

      I'll do a bit more skipping on rest days.

      I agree you cant be 10%.

      I'm down to about 16% and can see my top 4 abs.
