      Dog bite

My female Rotty was attacked by male German Shepherd a couple of years ago, i had to fight with it to make it retreat. It was a very aggresive dog that shouldn't of been out on a walk with it's owners son! Who was 14 at the time. He'd took the dog out without permission and my dog paid the price. Luckily she only sustained 2 puncture wounds that i treated myself with salt water wash. She was a little off with dogs for a few weeks after, but i refused to let the attack bother me. I'd purposely cross the road to walk past another dog, as i didn't want my rotty being affected by it in the long term.

I wouldn't worry too much about bella, if she has no visible injuries just keep an eye on her. If she is eating and drinking and seems ok, then dw. And remember don't let it knock your confidence, a confident owner is the best tool to defend against future attacks.

Three months ago a massive and i mean massive neapolitan mastiff broke free of it's leash and ran across 2 lanes of traffic and around 200 yards of field to get to my dog. But as it came charging towards me i jumped forward 2-3 feet and made a loud tsssssssssk noise and it stopped dead in it's tracks. I then let it sniff my dog, it's owner ran over put it on it's leash (looked like a steel cable) and then hit it and swore at it, as he walked off. At this point my legs went to jelly as it dawned on me how bad that situation could of been. LOL.
