Evening guy's and gal's and ladyboy's, not a very manly thread I know, but I was wondering if you had a poem that really means something to you. For me it's Footprints in the sand, I'm not what you would call religous or anything I just like the whole idea of having someone help you along when times are a bit tough, For me it was my Dad who carried me when I was falling in my younger day's and fall a lot I did, but he was always there no matter what to give me an earned earful, a place to stay and always some good advice. If not for him I would not be who I am now, I miss him alot, and this poem reminds me of him. footprints-in-the-sand.jpg

Do you have a favourite poem. Cardinal Newman's 'The Pillar of the Cloud' Lead, Kindly Light, amid the encircling gloom, Lead Thou me on! The night is dark, and I am far from home— Lead Thou me on! Keep Thou my feet: I do not ask to see The distant scene,—one step enough for me. I was not ever thus, nor pray'd that Thou Shouldst lead me on. I loved to choose and see my path; but now Lead Thou me on! I loved the garish day, and, spite of fears, Pride ruled my will: remember not past years. So long Thy power hath blest me, sure it still Will lead me on, O'er moor and fen, o'er crag and torrent, till The night is gone; And with the morn those angel faces smile Which I have loved long since, and lost awhile.
