Fcuk me. I've been overdoing the protein for 30 years. Wonder when these bad effects will kick in...?

I was just about to post this myself actually.

I'm not normally the first to attack news stories but this one in particular is pretty bad. God knows why Radio One have been running it as their lead story on the news this morning.

Not sure if it's down to the British Dietetic Association trying to drum up some cheap publicity for their organisation, or newsbeat trying to make a story out of nothing. First they talk about something the BDA have said, then quote some gym going randomer who has experienced so pretty illogical supposed side effects from taking to many protein shakes (anger being one lol), then go on about pwo's containing DMAA... I mean what is their point?

One random bloke saying he had bad sides versus the rest of the gym going population that record no negative effects at all

Did you guys actually read the article? It is a bit vague to be honest. It basically say's the Dieticians recommend adults don't take more than twice of they're recommended daily allowance but there is no mention in that statement of athletes or recreational bodybuilders etc. Also they state that there has only been 11 cases in 11 years of bad side effects from high protein and the guy they use as an example (no picture of him surprisingly) say's he was taking 7 shakes a day

I don't think the article is that bad to be honest.

They would say that, cos they havent taxed the sh1t out of it yet! When they do there will be loads of new 'evidence' that protein is amazing, we should all overdose on it and make sure our parents/kids/friends do too.
