Mmm needs to be relational to the genre really but would say....

Stargate universe - Best sci fi for me I love how they re-invented it and made it really dark and character based.

Babylon 5 - Quite old now but was basically a political drama set in space which is something thats never been done since it really was incredibly clever.

Spooks - Best spy drama for me because its very realistic, maybe 2 shots are fire per series just like real life. I did like 24 but it was nothing more than political propaganda used to soften the American publics perception of torture.

Crime/action - Would say sons of anarchy... Because its not just action its very well written.
