Well I got a ccj I didn't even know about for £100 and it fcuked me up for years. I think it was about 6 years. I couldn't rent a house unless I got a guarantaur to pay my rent for me and I had to pay them. It's a bloody joke how the credit system has your nuts in a vice.

The majority of the time if you pay back what you owe when you owe it then it's not a problem.

Obviously i don't know about your situation but 99% of the time it's people living beyond their means that have issues and why would you lend money to someone with a history of not paying it back?

      I know i wouldn't.

I believe a bankruptcy will remain on file for 7 years. You will struggle to get ANY credit for a good few years and then when you do it won't be at good rates. Your best bet is to keep up payments as per the order, or repay quicker. Then start to build up savings accounts if you can.

Build up a cash ISA, instant access account savings etc with the same financial institution. That way you are building up your rating with the one company instead of having drips and drabs everywhere.

Over time that company will become the best place to source Finance from as they will see a steady income, bills and direct debits being made on time, and some capital in the bank. Then you might get lucky and get a credit card. It just takes time to rebuild everything again.

They did though didn't they. Sub prime loans are why we're in the situation we're in now.

I believe the public also need to take their fair share of the flack for the situation we are in. 5x income on self certification mortgages for self employed people with limited trading history and a BMW on finance. If people lived within their means none of this would have happened.

I am paying for some muppet who had a house he could ill afford and a car that went with it. Never mind the holidays etc etc. lenders were irresponsible but like any company with shareholders it's all about the profit
