I was Lynx circuit, 702, then 815, then AED on Illustrious, then back to 815 slips, then left, Got a job with Dong Energy in Ramsgate, Kent. Gutted for you mate - you know if you done 6 years or more you get to go uni for free, so if you did a intergrated masters with a foundation year and a year working abroad/industry they have to pay your tuition fees for 6 years at whatever the cost, no limit! Which I wouldn't mind doing in the future myself.

Good luck with uni and recovery mate! And no more duties and fitness tests, clear lower decks and div days!!!

Mate, as it seems that you are just starting your working life, then why don't you consider a trade? Electricians, Plumbers, Plasterers, Brickies are always in demand. Good luck in your choice.

I'm in Scotland anyway mate so uni will be free!

I couldn't have hacked AED,I was sick of being onboard after 3 weeks doing Joint Warrior on Illustrious, then only other sea time i did was Auriga on Ark Royal (which was fvcking quality!) was only 9 weeks but was split up by some good runs ashore.

Tbh I am still getting used to being out,I hated it near the end but do miss the banter.Don't miss call the hands though haha.

      All the best shippers.

      Hi mate.

      I've served for 12 years

      29 cdo regt royal artillery

      Royal marine artillery gun support

I was brigade recce, war ****, it was a hoofin job.

Id recommend the forces to anyone, but

Go into the royal engineers or reme, u will get civvie trades, which will help you if you leave.

The engineers also do infantry skills within their trade so you can be an assault engineer.

The infantry you won't get anything that can hep you, other than a fee management qualifications, if you progress high enough.

If you need any info, message me pal
