      hey fellas,

Obviously I'm fairly young and immature but Im wondering what it's like at the ~35 age with the variety of salaries.

Do you ever get jealous of your friends who made it big? Does it matter? Any regrets?

The reason I ask is because I just graduated university and I'm trying to decide whether to go for the money or an awesome career.

      Thanks!

Go with what ever makes you happy, if you feel that money can make you happy, then go for it. If it is a career, then so be it.

A lot of people I know make tons more than me... and spend tons more than me.

The more you make, the more you spend.

I don't have any friends who make much more than me. I'm a little jealous of my ex wife's income (>$1000 a night in Vegas), but we're not exactly friends these days. If you find a career where you're making good money and doing something you love, you're doing better than most people out there. I don't have any regrets about my choice of careers.

Kinda jelly, not so much of the overall income but the perks my mate gets. He is a sales/marketing rep for a big company n gets car, phone, Internet, corporate tickets whenever he wants, free meals n accom whenever he goes to company meetings, massive piss ups all the time with the bosses, yearly bonus if u work hard which he does.

He has worked his way up the food chain tho so more envious then jelly

Hard to say where I stand amoungst my friends...I became debt free before the age of 40.....and they have not. So in this sense...I think it is how you work with what you got over how much money you make. But in the end I think chasing a career you will enjoy, regardless of the money to a certain extent, is much more rewarding.
