Recently got myself a 3D tellybox, so I'm just wondering what 3D films (if any) people would recommend so I can get my moneys worth out of the 3-month Lovefilm trial that came with it.

I already own Despicable Me (cracking example of 3D film), Sanctum, Tron: Legacy, and Up, and I've got Deathly Hallows 1&2 on the way.

Also are there any truly dreadful ones to avoid?

Yeah I heard that John Carter is so good in 3D that they're making their money back just off Blu-Ray sales, will add it to my rental list!

Recently watched Avatar so I'll wait a bit for that one... it's a long slog! Will see if the extended edition comes out in 3D and then rent that I reckon.

The third Transformers Film was pretty good in 3D as it was recorded using 3D cameras instead of post production.

Ah cheers for the rep Scoob!

Sorry me for posting an off-topic comment in my own thread, but this "you haven't been here long enough to post profile comments or send a PM" thing is as frustrating as it is brilliant.

Just tell me it's better than that festering abortion "Revenge of the Fallen", and I'll give it a whirl.

Id say it was better than the second one mate, but im a Transformers geek so love them all. Just go and watch expecting to see crazy robots blowing the siht out of each other. If you expect a decent storyline youll be disappointed.

The best films to watch in 3D for the effects are the kids ones! Any CGI films look great. lion king being one of them
A surprisingly good movie in 3D is resident evil afterlife. Also the newest underworld is pretty good.

Haha, after the first two I won't make that mistake again! I do like explosions though. Added to list!

Afterlife was alright, I don't know what everyone was moaning about. Saw it in 3D on my mate's telly and have to agree it did benefit from it.
I've not really got into Underworld at all but I might give that one a whirl... think it was "Awakening", yeah?
