Hi! Good to be on here, lurked around a while and read some great stuff and thought it's about time I got stuck in and actually joined...

Anyway, been training for 4 months. I'm tall and thin but have managed to pack on some good muscle, training split is:

      chest/trilegs/absback/bi/shoulderslegs/absrestrepeat

Training legs twice a week as I'm a lanky streak of p!ss and they look like spaghetti. Don't want to be branded a bicep boy but they're taking some work to get anything like in proportion getting there slowly though but my main problem right now is something else.

My problem though is my torso, it's so f^cking thin. My chest, shoulders, arms and legs are growing nicely, but from my pecs down to my thighs is puny; my avatar is a GOOD angle for the shot but you can see I'm thin. I look out of proportion. Been doing side bends, plenty or core stuff, planks, russian twists etc, but I just seem to be getting bigger everywhere but as there aren't any big muscles around the front of my rib cage I don't know what to do.

I don't want to end up looking like 4 muscly limbs strapped to starving midriff!
      Any advice???

Appreciate any help I can get!

Stop all the ab work eat more calories and your training to much do the 5x5 strong lifts get strong on deadlifts and squats. If your tall and thin type less is more and eating and resting more is crucial.

OK I will, thanks mate. I'm doing deadlifts squats and chest press as the main part of my routines, not very strong and kind of hit a wall of not getting more weight on the bar. Maybe 5x5 is the key.

      Cheers!

      How old are you?
if your under 25 you still have a lot of filling out to do naturally any way.
You need to some heavy rows, pull overs and power cleans, it's not all about the chest.

I'm 30 mate, always been lanky, Peter Crouch kind of build (!) but filled out a fair bit since started training, everywhere except my mid section

so if I do 5x5 can I incorporate rows and cleans?

Nice one. On every day of the 5x5 or just hitting the extra exercises once a week? @rocky666 said plenty of rest

Cross bench db pullovers for the rib cage.

When u lower the weight make sure you lower ur ar*e and inhale at the same time.
