Soooo I've been out of uni since July and still no job. I'm not surprised by that I know things are bad at the moment and I've been doing a lot of applications but I am only now starting to get back a few rejections. Basically the main area I want to get into is animal care.. I've applied to a lot of companies but got rejected. I actually got a rejection from Pets At Home just now, I wasn't suitable for the 12-hour part time position but I've noticed the same branch has another 2 vacancies for the same thing essentially just with different hours.

Does anyone know from experience with this sort of thing if I'll just be rejected on the spot because I've already applied with them a few days ago if I tried the other 2? I only wonder because their applications take like 20 minutes to fill out... I've had the same crap with cleaning jobs and carehomes too unsure whether I can apply to the same company in the same location again after being rejected so soon?

      Any feedback appreciated!

      Do it and find out,

As you said you are unemployed so it's not as if you don't have a spare 20 minutes to fill out an application

Well its a pretty hard one to answer this as you could have been rejected for any reason. Sometimes you may find that you're actually over qualified for jobs and the employer may think that you will get bored quick and move on. Apart from that it could be the reason why you want the job(what you wrote on the form itself).

It's very hard to say really unless viewing what you have written, I mean it also could have been a great application and unfortunately they had already got someone for the job, someone they know or w/e.

Good luck in your job hunt though, always wanted to work with animals myself, but ended up working with sick people instead! ;p

Did they ask you the question about what animal you should be and why? Seriously I wrote an application for them a few years back and they asked that. Was surprised not to get an interview as I fitted the criteria perfectly.

Haha they did I didn't write anything to fancy it was something to the effect of "I would probably be a greyhound because I love running, they go on far more adventures than cats, they get more treats than cats, they get to ride shotgun in cars, attacking the postman must be fun blah blah" possibly too childish but meh... I saw the question as showing how down to earth and human you were... But maybe I was wrong.

My choice would be a pubic lice inside Kelly Brook's thong.

It's awesome that you're possibly giving me the "you lazy ****s on benefits" treatment mate but to be fair I wasn't actually asking because I'm lazy I don't want to mess up chances with a company by badgering them too often after getting rejections, that was my point. I'm more than happy to write the applications for the other positions, I'm just worried they might think oh this guy is spamming us again put him on the reject pile.

Wouldn't be a bad one too choose lol.

Was the response a bog standard automatic not suitable type e-mail. If so, it may just be that they found someone quickly, but personally I would just apply for the position on both of the other applications. I suppose it all depends on how much you want to work there and whether or not you'll be too bothered about them not letting you apply again. Oh, and I thought you'd just finished studying web design??
