Take pictures, front back and side in your pants.

Set sensible aims, like one pound a week fat loss.

Get a notebook, write down what weights you lift and improve on them.

When you do cardio at the gym dont go like a nutter until you are fitter, keep your heart rate at about 125-130 beats a minute, watch the calories on the machine, and every 50 calories pick up the speed for ten calories and then drop it back down. Aim for blocks of 500 calories (takes about 40 minutes on the cross trainer/strider).

Do your weights before your main cardio.

Take a towel to the gym to wipe the sweat off of kit, and carry a water bottle. Get a small bag to carry around the gym with your book, water, towel and other crap in it.

      Enjoy it!

start off light weights get used to it and then keep upping the weights
measure everything, take pics now - in a few months time it will help having the pics so you can remind yourself with proof of your progress!

most people start off training with a rubbish diet tbh until they do some research, but you can start training now and learn about diet properly now for a few weeks aswell to get a diet sorted and try a few out to get it right for you

Hey MixerD1. I've always thought I was unable to positively change my body shape. The first year of gym membership that I mention I was going 4-5 times a week; 40 mins bike and three sets of 10 on bi-curls, tri push downs, pec-dec, hamstring curls, leg ext and seated squats. I went to 11 stone with 13% body fat. I'm 6ft. What I'm terrified about is if it happens again. I was so disillusioned when comments were all about how thin I was when all I wanted was fitness and bulk.
