I'm looking for some good books about health, healthy diet, healthy lifestyle and so on. Can you tell me which ones are the best?
Tony Horton of P90X did one called Bring It, dealt with work outs, and diet. The whole package. I might look at it again. It asks a fairly heavy commitment. May be a bit too much for me actually. Ryder13
I'd be interested to read the Tony Horton book mentioned above, since I'm currently doing P90x. I've read Master Your Metabolism by Jillian Michaels which was a decent read, but mostly just contained practical information I already somewhat knew. It did also recommend eliminating caffeine, which isn't something I have done.
I can't tell you whether the Horton book duplicates the DVD info. I would say have a look at it and if it catches you, get it. Seems to be solid and consistent with his approach. But maybe a look at the library before you buy a copy. Or a quick look in a bookstore then decide. Good luck with the program. Right now for me I am trying for four workouts a week. And trying to get a bit healthier re the diet too. I have a few diet issues so I can't just copy Tony. IE allergies to eggs, fish, nuts, and a couple of other issues as well. Oh well. Ryder13
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3109.The_Omnivore_s_Dilemma I recommend this book because I personally had a really good experience from reading it. It is a book that you will probably not want to put down in the way it's written. That is very get range for. A health book to be so interesting but it truly was very captivating from the first page. This book has been getting a lot of buzz from the years 2006 so I definitely suggest you check it out!
Thought I have ZERO faith in fad books and diets I read and really enjoyed Tim Ferris's book called "The Four Hour Body." It was packed with a lot of good tips and tricks on health and fitness and maximizing fat loss. Apparently he used himself as a human guinea pig and showed a lot of statistics. The diet in the book is basically the slow carb diet, which works to an extent. Its filled with things I'm glad I know now so I would diffidently recommend it.
I would recommend the Primal blueprint by Mark Sisson. I think you can still download it for free and it's a great introduction to Primal/Paleo, covering all the fundamentals. Your understanding of health will be taken to another level and it might even change your life...
This sounds like a good one and it is actually a book that my best friend currently owns. Would you happen to know where I can download it for free? I would really appreciate it!
