      Can I have a piece of fruit as dessert at the end of every meal- they are healthy,tasty and full of fibre and they will help me not to snack on junk.

      Im going to be on a low carb diet, so at the end of everymeal isit ok to have fruit? Iv'e read and heard that simple sugars such as fruit (fructose) cause a spike in insulin and this could result in catoblism? If I have my carbs (rice) and protein (fish) and then have a piece of fruit, will this still cause a spike in insulin?

      im a bit confused to be honest, also what is ''spike in insulin''-main question being is fruit ok to have?

      dont worry about insulin spikes, worry about overall calorie intake

      um i eat apples but on a cut try and get more minerals / vitamins from veggies do have some apples though, apart from my experience i dont really know but maybe not after every meal.

      Yeah sugars will cause an insulin spike, basically sugars get into your bloodsteam really quick, raising blood sugar levels which causes the body to release insulin, insulin is a storage hormone that causes cells to take up these sugars (amongst other things aswell) this may prevent catabolism but will also blunt any fat loss, high protein is your best bet to prevent catabolism. Dont really know much supplement wise but i think BCAA's and glutamine can also help.

      Sugars from fruit i don't think are too bad because the high ammounts of fibre in the fruit slows uptake / absobtion of the sugar into the bloodstream. Someone correct me if im wrong.

      Maybe have most of your fruit with breakfast and around workout?

      Yeah fatstuff is right don't worry too much about it the effect is very minimal, its only a petty thing

      Well, u have obviously read about high and low gi foods but the gi of the meal is lowered when eaten with protein or fat or another lower gi carb.

      If your going to have fruit have pineapple very good in the evenings google it very good bodybuilding food!
