I was randomly thinking about how to avoid the Tax on protein. Maybe companies could sell other items say for example somthing of low value costing £30 that 'comes' with 3kg free protein..
Cant pay tax on somthing that is free

Wouldn't you pay the tax on that item you bought though?

Good idea, doubt the protein companies will go ahead with it.

Ha ha ha, imagine how hard that'd be to make work for the guys selling the protein.

HAHA you cnut got me excited here; like you had a way of makin me millions lol...

I work in ecommerce and ive found that there is a VAT loophole for retailers selling CDs / DVDs etc as they are all based in Jersey... Most common companies are CDs, DVDs, Makeup, Perfume and computer hardware...

Maybe the same could work for supplments...

I still think they could get around it by selling the whey as a baking ingredient rather than a drink... plenty of people do use it in cooking anyway so why should they pay VAT.

Goods bought for less than £15 and imported to the UK from outside the EU – including the Channel Islands – are exempt from VAT under LVCR.

Ive just found this on the internet...

Fcuked up that supplements cost alot more...

...or labelling it as a diet shake... don't think there is VAT on those. I wonder how they define a 'diet shake'??

I reckon which ever bulk supplier does this will take a massive market share.
