Do I even lift? Alright so I have lost a grand total of 80lbs since I started eating better and doing loads of cardio about a year ago. I sit here now, 6'0 and 178lbs. Very Very low LBM as you can see. Practically no definition anywhere besides my legs. I come here to ask you guys this. Based on my pictures. Should I just clean bulk it indefinitely and acquire some mass? I was eating around 2900 cals for a month and didn't gain 1 pound lol. Was lifting heavy also. The thing that made me stop was I started to stress about getting enough sleep and even with ample time I couldn't fall asleep and would stress myself out about it. Being told the recommended amount of sleep is 8 hours a night was probably the worst advice I have ever been given haha. I'm willing to try again though of course. Trying to not take it as serious this time around, just gonna have fun with it. My lifts are as follows: High Bar Squat (Parallel) - 225lbs 3x5 OHP - 100lbs 3x5 Bent Over Row - 105lbs 3x5 Bench - 75lb db's 3x5 Deadlift - 220lbs 3x5 So my lifts are very weak obviously. I have been training the Starting Strength way for about half a year now off and on. Mostly on a calorie deficit. I'd say my body is used to it now and my legs and abs are a lot stronger. I'm going to continue with SS but you guys think I could add some accessories now or just leave them out? My main goal is aesthetics and I understand you're either training for strength or hypertrophy so I can understand if I should leave the bicep work/chins/pulls out of it. And of course, start eating or get rid of the flab then eat??? Thanks in advance. Really Really Appreciate it. Do I look like I have a decent base to start with?

Should I start bulking? Cutting? (Skinny Fat Reporting In) Looks to me like you have a pretty good base. Personally I'd learn to calculate my needs, bulk up, and have a nice cut in time for next summer! Calculate your needs here: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=121703981
Should I start bulking? Cutting? (Skinny Fat Reporting In) Just looking at your pic, here's my advice. Bulk first. Please god bulk. I was in the same boat as you "cut or bulk??" I chose cut. Now I wish I had picked bulk. Sure it's tough to be a bit chubby - but unless you have muscle mass, you'll get stuck in this endless cycle of cutting, wondering why you can't see any abs, or don't look cut. It's cause there's not enough muscle there.
Should I start bulking? Cutting? (Skinny Fat Reporting In) Yeah the problem when I use some of the calcs is that due to having such low LBM it's kind of hard to get an accurate read. Like I said I tried out a strict 2900 cals for a few weeks and didn't budge. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable in diet and nutrition it's just a matter of applying it to myself at times. Macro nutrients are in check and I think if I go up to 3100 or so I may get the results I desire. Skinny fat is so tough mentally! Gahhh! Thanks though brahs, Miacanesfan25, mirin fyziek srs.
Should I start bulking? Cutting? (Skinny Fat Reporting In) Hah, nah, it's not that bad. It's late and my jokes are obviously getting worse. Considering you've lost 80 lbs since you started, you're probably doing extremely well. Bulk up, finish linear progression on SS, then reassess once you've gained some additional mass.
Should I start bulking? Cutting? (Skinny Fat Reporting In) one cheeky kunt mate haha, thanks though. Thanks everybody, I guess I gotta clean bulk till I have some visible mass. Going to go hard!!! Cheers
