ok guys ive seen this vw scirroco i like stunning looking car,its up for £12,495 they told me in garage its had work done on front
but they were unsure how much, when i ran a check on it via hpi check it said its bin in category c wright off,i checked how serious that is it says quite lot damage had to be checked and inspected before going back on road which it has bin,
just wondering if anyone nows much bout this sort thing or bought something similar or some advice weather to gamble on it or leave well alone!!

They have to be thoroughly inspected to be road safe so in theory they're fine.

      Personally, I wouldn't touch a cat C with a barge pole.

EDIT: And yes, they're impossible to sell on.

As Dave ses....steer clear. You have no idea what your buying...and even IF you were taking that into account and willing to take a punt...12,000 odd is mentally overpriced for an ex-write off.. Lovely car but, its still a write off.

It is possible to get a Cat C back on the road, it usually needs to get checked over at a VOSA MOT centre. They are usually quite thourough so I would expect the car should be fine. That said there are no guarantees though.

You could get a car brand new off the forecourt and it could be in worse nick, cars are a pain in the ar5e

I would defo be using that as a reason to get that price down though.
