So I figured out my caloric needs and made some macros and everything for a bulk diet and they came out to 258.5 carbs, 302.2 protein, and 116.3 fat. I asked my gyms personal trainer if my macros and workouts looked good and he suggested the following macros. 555 carbs, 50 fat, 130 protein. Seems a little protein deficient to me. What works best for you all? I might swap the protein down to 250 and carbs up to 300, but not really sure. 24 years old, 6'3" tall, 178 lbs
My gyms personal trainer on macros People over think chit like that just eat clean and eat a lot. More than sufficient for a non competing bber.
My gyms personal trainer on macros Protein @ 1g per lb of LBM (minimum), fats around 0.45g per lb of BW, and rest CHO. LOL at your trainer. Ask him how he came up with those macros?
My gyms personal trainer on macros Your protein doesn't really need to be that high. It shouldn't harm you if your liver is fine and that's what you prefer but it isn't necessary.
My gyms personal trainer on macros Cool cool thanks guys. Im probably going to drop my protein a bit. My liver is good, but that much meat seems to be bad for my wallet haha
My gyms personal trainer on macros Are you kidding? Trainers don't even have the equivalent of an associates. Personal training
My gyms personal trainer on macros It seems like you've got the right idea already, Few trainders actually know what they are talking about, especially those at like a gold's or something like that.
My gyms personal trainer on macros That's the USDA's crappy standards. Loads of carbs, some protein, and little to no fat (because everyone knows eating fat makes you fat, right?) Your protein standard doesn't have to be quite so high. I'd say go with about 200g protein and 350g carbs.
