Ok, so, hi. My name is MADBARZ and I'm 18 going on 19 this summer. I just went through a huge breakup and blah blah time to stop being sad start being awesome.

The picture in my profile is most recent, after 3 weeks of fitness and working out just about everyday. I have too much body fat to start bulking now that it's shirt off weather. I wanna be able to go to the beach with my friends and not look like Grimace. But I do not have enough muscle to start cutting, because I'll probably get to 140 and look like a twig.

SO: I'm going like 50/50 and doing a low calorie (~1000/day), high protein diet. In the last couple of weeks, I've lost a significant amount of body fat while putting on a good amount of muscle. My weekly progress pictures show me getting slimmer and my muscles getting bigger. I'm seeing progress.

HOWEVER: I am aware that ~1000 calories is not a lot. I am aware that I'm probably not putting on A LOT of muscle because of this calorie deficit. I'm told I'm starving myself by multiple sources, but I'm getting the results I want... so I don't see what the problem is.

TL;DR: I'm eating like a bird, and working out hardcore at the same time, but I'm getting the results I want so I don't see what the problem is.

Stop before you do some real damage.

Describe what you mean by progress. And as a general observation, you are on your way to an E.D. with this thought process.

I understand, but why should I stop while I'm getting the results I want?

i highly doubt you are gaining any muscle what-so-ever. Also, weight is not the same as body fat..its not hard to lose weight by starving yourself

As I said, I'm losing significant body fat, and I see my arms and chest growing in my weekly pics. That's progress to me... I am eating, just not eating as much as I used to, because I was eating so much that I wasn't fitting into my clothes.

I assure you I am gaining muscle. No where NEAR as much muscle as I would be if I was bulking and doing the same work out routine, but still some muscle nonetheless. I say I'm losing body fat because my muscles are becoming larger and more defined as I lose "weight".

      Um, this.

You've been at it for 2 weeks. Come back in 2 months and let's see how your metabolism is performing and how good you feel.
