i know there are tons of threads on this but this is individual. I weigh 167 pounds and have been eating 4200-4500 calories for the past 6 weeks and lost a pound of weight somehow. i count my calories religiously so the 4200-4500 is not a guess it is my actual intake. so my question is, is it possible this could point to an overactive thyroid making my metabolism to high or what, cause it is getting a little ridiculous eating this much with no gains. also my strength keeps going up so i am making gains in that aspect that is why it is so weird to me. thanks for any help guys.

you have obviously never heard of your thyroid. an overactive one can make weight gains near impossible as well as an under active making losing weight near impossible.

Chances are that you are miscounting if you do not weight everything that you eat. Believe me, it is very easy to overcount/undercount. If you think you have everything dialed up, try to open an topic on Nutrition Log forum and post pictures of your daily intake so we can evaluate it.

If you think you have a medical condition you should seek a physician to handle that (or eat more).

      Most important, stop whining.

I have, actually. I'm also aware weight loss is a symptom of hyperthyroidism. I don't claim to be an expert on the subject by any means, but, unless you plan on having it surgically removed, the most logical answer I can give you to counter your weight loss would be, eat more.
