      hi guys, random question i am going to the US in a few weeks and was thinking about buying an ipad over there and was wondering if it would work back here in UK? anyone have any knowledge if it would?

      Wifi version yes 100% others I'm not sure.

      thanks for quick reply!!, ye was wondering as it was the 4g one was thinking of going for, keep hearing mixed things some saying it will, some saying it wont

      It shouldnt be a problem after all tablets are meant to be for use on the go so it would be useless if you cant use it abroad, all you'd need is a uk mini sim

      yep thats what i thought but would the software on the us ipad conflict at all with uk software?

      Should be sound. I bought a mac book out there 4 years ago and stil use today. Only thing was the charger had an American plug but was able to get an adapter easy

      As far as im aware a software developer would be stupid if he made a software only exclusive to one country....

      I bought mine in the US last week, mine's a wifi one but when you turn it on it asks you what country you are using it in etc as part of the set up so can't imagine it being a problem if it's a 4g one.

      The software would be fine but you would get a us a/c charger so you would need a uk plug head and it would need to be network free or unlocked to use with the UK phone network!
